RIM Job

Sorry for the catchy subject heading but that case made me excited.
Based on the materials I wonder if the same maker of BodyGlove tech accessories made a few prototypes for RIM. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/1643.htm
Vaja ( www.vajacases.com) is supposedly coming out with a few cool ones for the 7100 series but not till late spring according to my contact there.
I too am experiencing the flaccid stock case after a month of repeated heavy use.

I just bought one of these cases today. I don't often buy through eBay but the case looks too good to pass up. At just under $30 (including shipping), it's a little pricey but that's really not a bad price to protect my baby
I'll post as things progress.

Great case. I'd buy in a minute if they were available.
BTW-I was looking at your pictures. I'm new to Blackberry, but like the screen shot of your BB turned on. Mine doesn't look like that. Is that a different theme? Is that available?

I think that is the otehr theme that comes in the TMO version (pre-installed).
Go to themes and select LIST as the theme option

I had a friend of mine email a friend of hers at RIM. His Reply about the case:
******************
Me again...you know what, I just re-read your email, I think you were asking
me about the CASE for the 7100, not the handheld itself..sorry about that?!!
I only know of 2 holsters, I have the black nylon one with the belt clip,
but the one in the pictures you sent is a bit different (it has the
caribiner on it). Probably some accessory store or something might sell it,
maybe that wireless world or you could try this place www.tessco.com
*********************
I guess not everyone knows about them?

I just purchased and have been in contact with the person responsible for the case at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW. He tells me he's designed the cases and is working on some new designs. He seems quite nice and, since he's selling on eBay, is available for comment or questions, especially, I would think, from a potential buying population as large as ours.
And, as I said, I'll post when I receive my case.

Ya, I know a bunch of guys who work at RIM (living in the birth place/headquarters of RIM you tend to know a few ) and mostly the tech (hands on) guys really know about the cool stuff. Mostly cause they see them pass through on a daily basis in their department as opposed to software developers who see the PC they design the boards on all day or some one who works in accounting etc..... One friend in particular comes home with all kinds of cool beta charm accesories from time to time. I could tell you more but I would have to kill you.....lol...... (this is what he always says to me) :D
Just you wait, you aint seen nothin yet. I just wish they would hurry and put this stuff on the consumer market. Rim is a buisness orientated company. It is more likly the "cool" stuff will be available for a company that buys 1000 units at a time before you see anything sold in phone stores for the general public who wants to have a blackberry.

Actually, thats just my message/email page :P I am using the TMO theme though, with a millbank font. I like the TMO better than the 7100r, even though I live and Canada and thats whats offered here I got a TMO model instead.

One of the things I actually love...perhaps the only thing..about the standard 7100 holster is that it does not obstruct the speakerphone on the back of the device. It's great for listening to conference calls when you don't need to use the mic and also all your ringtones/alerts sound clear and are unblocked.
The only thing I want from this case is a swivel clip...is that too much to ask for?????

I just got this case: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT
Side pouch and sleep function works.
I don't know if it was made for the 7100 but it fits perfectly.

New beautiful custom cases available from Vaja
Yea, the best case (if you dont need the magnetic shut-off feature) is now available. Personally I dont need the shut-off feature 'cause mine sits in the holster all day and I use my Jabra BT 250 Bluetooth headset.
This case is a winner.

Just got this case yesterday:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
-Very nice built-in swivel function
-Auto-Off works perfect
-Perfect fit for my 7100t and top flap keeps it in place very nicely
-Good quality leather
-It seems "flatter" than the stock case
-I haven't had any problems with the belt clip...seems very solid, just like the stock case.
-You can charge/sync the 7100t with it in the case
Overall, I'm very happy for <$30. Now just bring on the neoprene cases and I'll be set!

I, too, purchased the case through eBay last week that Krycek bought. I corresponded with the seller via email (one Mr. Gizmo Skin as his email signature attests!). It cost me $28.90 (BuyItNow) including shipping and it arrived today. Excellent case and an excellent seller. Very attractive case, nice leather, seems to be a quite sturdy belt-clip and the sleep function definitely works -- well worth the price. I don't know that I'd pay the full price from the GizmoSkin.com site but, then, I'm cheap!

I also picked up the same case a number of you spoke about. I've had it for a while now and I still love it just as much.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5755616925
I had a case for my 7280 at one point that had a slot for a credit card or some money, it would be neat to see something similar for the 7100, anyone see one?
