Well, you'll have much more then 3G when on a WiFi connection, and I keep a sprint EVDO card for the laptop. Tethering is nice, but work pays my bill and the sprint card is just so damn reliable.... I'll go with the 8800 + EVDO card for a while..

Very excited to see T-Mo roll out UMA, it's just in Seattle right now but I expect that is to see how the system works and get the bugs out before a wider launch of it. It should just be an upgrade in their call handling facilities and not so much work at the tower level..

Well to aspiring BB BES Admins/users maybe. But solely to providers the importance of 3G is wider bandwidth to offer more data consumptive features, more opportunities for contracts (ie Contracting out data services to local Police cruisers connecting via VPN to police central HQ database like Rogers Wireless does with the Toronto Police ). More options for data connectivity & economies of scale over the long term & support for newer devices.

I agree with tethering but I also see small stationary nodes that have an AC adapter and SIM card within providing home users with Internet Light service where Cable/DSL companies cannot provide service - also where only satellite is offered at exorbitant prices! ;) Also an alternative to Satellite DVD based auto navigation?? (nah).

Unless Cingular, Rogers, TMobile, West provides Glenayre based Video Mail Boxes along with Video calling; then Video Conferencing/Calling is useless in this part of the world.

Whats up gzakhary. I have the same last name as you... I will probably see you over Thanksgiving break... Imagine that. My phone works in my car, and the kit is pretty new.

Awesome Information Site BG wish i had more hands... to give ya 4 thumbs up....

I did want to ask something on the Lanlogic website it says that the Goodlink is a bit better since it supplies same function as BB Bes only it also syncs contacts tasks wirelessly.... is that what you are using BG Goodlink? which do you recommend?

Also it says they support blackberry 4.0 platform... does this mean they dont support 4.1 with blackberry messenger ?: i apologize if its a dumb question guys..

Not a dumb question at all...they use the latest BES, and latest GoodLink. GoodLink is great for non-blackberry devices, microsoft pocket pc, smartphone, nokia, etc.

Just read BG's site. I find it amazing Motorola would release a cell phone and cingular tests it only to find problems with cell tower connectivity etc. Sad day when one of the top makers fails to find a problem first. Bottom line must be top on their minds.

thanks for the interesting site and I will also save it to my favs.

If and when there is any dirt to be known, you will definitely see it posted on this site.
