Default Zork, Colossal Cave, Planetfall ...

Evening all:

I just noticed that a version of the old text game Zork is available for old-school Blackberries; does anyone know of any versions of these old text adventures are on the horizon from any developers? Ones that could function on modern-day BBs? I realize I'm talking about a relatively small percentage of users who'd actually buy said games, but I'd definitely pay money for working versions of my beloved old text adventures to carry around on my BB.

Yes, I worked with a developer to port zmachine to midlet to run on the BB. Included in it was Mini Zork. It works great but because of size limitiations Mini Zork and smaller Scott Adams games are all I was able to get on the device.

Since then I have upgraded to OS 4 and think there is higher version of midlet (I think). I should try it again and see if I can get a larger game like Planetfall on there.

I have to look around where I site for the developer who I worked with. It was posted on the forum before the crash but the post seems to be gone.

It would be simply amazing to have Planetfall on my BlackBerry. I\'m not a developer, but let me know if I can do anything to help!

The interest, I think, would gradually appear.

Ok I found the site for the Zork on BB. Its called Z2ME and the forum is at:

http://www.dcemu.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/...num=1093363790

Post a message and he will PM you the link to download it. From it you can try to modify the package and put different zcode.

Let me know how you make out.

Hey Vinnie:

If you're still monitoring this thread -- my efforts to register at that other forum have failed -- they won't send me my password!

Any chance I could post through you or someone else affiliated with the board? I'd love to get that download.

I send you a PM with the address to download it. He has not posted it public yet.

i remember loving to play Zork. I don't really remember the first game, but I remember Beyond Zork. If anyone could get that on the BB so I can finally figure out how to solve the game, I'd be so happy! =)

Sorry to bump up an old thread but maybe someone has come up with the full fledged Zork on the BB by now.
