Just upgraded from nokia 6101 to BB 7105t, maybe this is simple, but After I turn on the phone and it signs up with TMO network, I see this message on top part of home screen "data compunication refused". I have no problem making or reciving calls though, regular signal strenght. However I tried to load some themes and not successful yet. wondering if it's related to that.

I have seen an issue whereby users get "data connection refused" on their device. This happens normally when the user does not have the correct subscription to log on to their network.
For example on if you are on a GSM/GPRS network then you need a blackberry specific APN for accessing the GPRS network, on your profile. Best thing to do is to contact your service provider and make sure you are set up for blackberry access.

Do you have a BlackBerry data plan, or did you just swap SIM cards? No BlackBerry data plan = no email.

Is there BB specific plan ? I just swapped my sim card from my cell phone to my BB7105t. I'm with TMO /Thanks

'data connection refused' basically means no existing data service with the carrier - or if there is it requires activation/configuration...

Yes, there is a BB specific plan. Like dfisher said, without it, you'll have the exact problem that you're having. ;)
