Default All forwarded and replied to emails get resent to my inbox

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have am 8700g, and I my school email set up on it (in addition to a yahoo and a hotmail). When I forward or reply to an email from my computer, that original email (which I replied to or forwarded to someone else) gets resent to the inbox for my uni email on my blackberry. For example, if you sent me an email a month ago, and right now, I respond to that email from my computer or forward it to someone else, your email gets resent to my inbox (with the original date on it). Is this some sort of setting I can change? Any help would be appreciated. It's annoying to keep getting these old emails and thinking they're new ones.

This has been asked a lot, and the answer can be found by searching.

I apologize for asking it again then. I did perform a search before I asked, but was unlucky, hence my post. Would you please be kind enough as to direct me to any leads? Much appreciated.

Gracias (that's pretty much the only spanish I know)

Are you sure my prognosis is similar to what's talked about in these two threads? My problem isn't that I'm getting duplicates. If I don't reply or forward an email from my computer, the original doesn't get resent to me (the duplicate is not of the sent item, but rather of the original email, no matter how long ago the original copy was received). Also, if I reply to or forward it from my blackberry, it doesn't happen. Only when I reply to or forward something from my computer does that something get resent to me on my blackberry.

By the way, it's neither a yahoo nor a Gmail account. Thoughts?

I don't think I've ever heard of this problem before. Is your uni email set up in bis or bes? Was it configured to autocc or forward your email to the bb?

I'm not sure but I'm gonna say bis (I'm still very new to blackberrys)

The problem is not that it is autocc'ing me on replies or forwards, because what I'm receiving is not a copy of my reply or forwarded message. What I'm getting is a copy of the original message, which I forwarded or responded to.

So if say you send me an email X today. I receive X to my blackberry. If after some time I respond to you with an email Y from my computer, I will receive X (not Y) one more time to my blackberry.

I'm glad I could bring something novel to the forums

So I checked, and I think my email is set up in BIS. The uni has a page up saying that we can set it up in BES but we'll have to send them our device, so meh.

Everything aside though, any idea on why it might be behaving as such?

The BES server your school is probably using will forward all messages you send from the PC to the BB and all replies to your email will be sent to both the PC and BB. You can option the BB to delete the emails from the BB but this will not allow you to recover email accidently deleted on the BB. The copy on the pc will go also. Generally if the school uses Outlook itxxx8217;s better to manage the email from the PC. It does come in handy when your away from the PC to be able to see if you responded to an email you saw on the PC on you BB.
As for the other emails not associated with the BES server, the replies will be echoed on the xxx8220;messages xxx8220; folder also
You will get accustomed to the methods.

He just confirmed that he's using BIS. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the *original* emails being resent upon replies or forwards from the computer. Almost as if he picked the email and edited as new, but somehow adds himself to the recipient line and sends to himself. Just thinking out loud at this point.

I know a BES will do the copy but never heard of the BIS server doing the same thing but maybe someone who is on a BIS server exclusively can answer this question. It’s still a weird problem and does not seem possible unless his forwarding is set up wrong for he other email accounts.
Even though he thinks he's on a BIS it seems not

I dont have the BES service on my phone. I have the BIS plan from T-mobile, so that should automatically rule out a BES setup, no?

That sounds to me like exactly what Gmail and others will do before you add the "no sent messages" filter.

According to the thread that handles that problem on Gmail, it is your SENT items that get sent to your BB. In my case, it's the originally RECEIVED emails that get sent to my BB (when I reply to them or forward them). It's neither my sent response nor my forwarded email that gets resent to my BB.

I might have read one of your explanations as being similar to that issue. I'd still lean towards a filter and possibly for your school email. You could set up a test email box or two actually separate from school and test between them and see if it still happens. If you can access your BIS then set them up there so they'll come to your BB as part of the test etc.

I would suspect your school email as needing the filter, that what it sounds like anyway the more I read your notes here.

Try the Gmail filter add from the top link dc/dc posted. I've had gl using it for all my email and other than Gmail.

I already tried that, it didn't resolve my particular problem. Strange huh? I'm baffled.
