So this holster does not work with the extended battery? David is saying it does, customer service at Sedio says it does not. I am looking for a streamlined case/holster with a pant/belt hook that securely holds my 7130e with extended battery.

Now I feel bad for not ordering one for my BB, the reviews are great and it's nice to see a rep from the company active in the thread, i think that's the clincher.

I do have one question. Do any of you (preferably 7100i users) use the .skin with the holster? I'm thinking of getting the combo and want to know if it's still a good secure fit in the holster while the .skin is on. I only have a few scratches and want to keep from future ones (i already have an ugly scratch on my screen!!)

It does work but I like it better with the standard battery. It feels more secure that way.

the holster works just fine with the extended battery. Have had holster and ext batt. for about 3 months. At first, i too felt that it wasnt as secure as with the normal battery. Now... i never even think about it.
As an aside, I actually took off the little rubber piece (on the clip) because i could then hear my bb 'snap' into it without having to look at it. Very second nature.....

Angry Poor customer service

I am very unhappy with this company! I ordered this clip about a month ago
and recieved a defective clip...below is the emails that i have pasted about my experience with this company. I bought the clip because of the great reviews I read about in this forum...I sent them this email the other day:
i have yet to recieve my new clip!

David,

I sent the old phone clip back to the Seido Returns department. The tracking
shows that the package has been shipped. When should i expect the new clip to be
sent out?

I am pasting the Tracking confirmation from the USPS website:

Label/Receipt Number: 0103 8555 7498 1051 5531
Status: Delivered

Your item was delivered at 9:28 am on August 10, 2006 in HOUSTON, TX 77042.

So far I am very unsatisfied with my experience with Seido. I paid close to 40
dollars for a Blackberry phone clip and was sent a defective unit. I then had to
pay out of my own pocket to return the defective unit, it has been 7 days since
you guys have recieved the RMA package, and I have yet to hear from you.

I am also attaching any other previous emails that I have sent to you guys.

Hi Viet,

You are absolutely correct - it should work perfectly with the phone facing
in, the way it was designed to work. Sounds like you have a holster with a
misplaced magnet set. The best thing to do is to fill out the quick form in
the following link and get a replacement. I apologize for the additional
hassle involved.

Please make sure you read the entire page before entering your information
and pressing "submit." Within a few days after that, you will receive an
RMA number with instructions about how to go about getting a replacement for
your defective product. If I can help you with anything else, please let us
know.

Hello I received the holster I ordered from you last week. I have one
problem. The sleeper function only works when the blackberry is inserted
with the screen facing out. When I insert the blackberry with the speaker
side facing out the sleeper function does not work. You cannot hear the
phone ring when the speaker is covered, this also leaves the screen
vulnerable to scratches. Is this the way the product was designed? I have
read many reviews on this holster and it has pictures of blackberries
inserted in the holster with the speaker facing out. Please help.

Thanks

Default Seidio Holster Question

I got my 7130e Seidio holster last week and I think it's great. I also lost the rubber bumper within a day...
{Warning - dumb question coming}
My 7130e only goes to sleep in the holster when the screen and keyboard are facing out. Is it supposed to be that way?

Thanks,
Dave

Default Hands on review: Seidio 7130e Swivel Clip Holster

Got my holster this afternoon. It's much better than the case that came with the 7130e. Rubber bumper fell out the 2nd time I took the phone out of the holster. Can it be glued in place?

Thumbs down hate it!

I don't understand why everybody thinks this holster is so great. I ordered one based on all of the positive reviews, and after trying it for five minutes it's going right back in the box. Problems include:

1) The retainer clip sticks out too far past the top of the phone (3/8"). It constantly rubs against my arm and catches on things I'm carrying (i.e., hard to carry a laptop on the same side as the BB). It also makes the BB/holster much more likely to catch on the arm of a chair as I stand up or sit down.

2) The holster rides higher than the standard holster does. The top of the spring clip on the standard holster is even with the top of the holster, so the BB rides below the top of your belt. The Seidio holster rides about 2" above the top of your belt. Which leads me to...

3) The back of the retainer clip sticks out about 1/4" from the back of the holster. That doesn't sound like a lot, but combined with (2) it results in the holster constantly jabbing me in the side. Maybe this isn't a problem if you rotate the holster so the BB is carried horizontally.

4) Finally, I couldn't figure out how to remove the BB from the holster one-handed when carrying it vertically. Every time I tried to release the retainer clip with my palm while grasping the sides of the phone, the clip would wind up catching the seam on the top of the phone. This part also works better if you rotate the holster so the phone is horizontal; then you can release the clip with your thumb.

It's really a shame because I was looking forward to getting a holster that transmits the vibrate alert better than the stock nylon holster. Why oh why doesn't RIM make the same style of holster for the 7100 that they use for the 7200 and 8100 series?

Still trying to get info about the Seidio skin/holster combo that is supposed to be available (last week? soon?) for the 7130e...

Has anyone heard an update?

I need to replace my 7130e, since i think i did something to my radio my by dropping it to many times (at least it still less than an year old and i still have a spare comp unit from rim, the refurb that i have is not happy) and would love to have a skin on it the second i activate it....

Hi Raven,

Here's the latest scoop: we received an initial shipment at around release time, but our manufacturer goofed and the skins didn't meet up to our specs. Current ETA is within 2 weeks from now at the latest. Both skins and holsters will be in stock at the same time. I apologize for the delay, but sometimes, things just happen. Thanks for your patience and I know you will be more than happy with the finished product.

David

Most likely you got a week magnet (which happened to me as well). Contact David for the magnet replacement kit. Upon receiving the new magnet, I simply lifted the felt up and switched magnets. I made sure the felt was back in place securely (thats some quality glue they use) and sleeper function now works as advertised. This is a great product, backed by great service.

1) Move the BB closer inwards toward your belt buckle.
2) See 3
3) Experienced the same thing. Horizontal use is the preferred method.
4) See 3

Is it perfect? No. Is it better then the standard holster? YES!

Unhappy

After about 8 months of use this holster has finally worn out. The swivel clip has lost its ability to hold the holster in a specific location and it looks like the rivet holding it on is going to break soon.
