You would have to delete all the entries....there is no on/off switch for it.

You don't turn off AutoText... unless you go it in an delete all the entries.
Why would you want to do so?

Do you mean AutoText or SureType or even Predictive Typing?

That Predictive Text was annoying...I turned that off immediately.

you didnt give it a chance. alot of users pick up suretype and type much faster with the predictive text. that being said the suretype + autotext + predictive text isnt for everyone

I don't like the predictive text either, slows me down. Love Sure Type and Auto Text though. I miss having the keyboard shortcut on my 7130 that would allow me to select one of the Sure Type options. Having to use the scroll wheel slows me down too.

Whats the feature where your typing in letters and it trys to spell the word for you? Is that predictive type?

Yes, if the word types up AS your typing. SureType will not give you the word until you get to the end of the word.

Predictive Text is where it tries to guess your word before you finish typing it. With Suretype, you still must complete each letter keystroke.

i do not think there is a way to remove autotext. it usually corrects commonly misspelled words. just out of curiousity why is it you want it off?

autotext wont, suretype will. suretype will learn the name after you type it once and hit space. also it scans your address book and incoming email and adds names/words to the suretype dictionary.

Yes, you can turn it off. Click on the Options icon, then Language, then Input Options. Uncheck Predictive Input.

Yes I don't like predictive text, it slows me down. I turned off my feature as well. I just got my 8130 yesterday so I'm still learning the ropes of it.

You may want to change your profile to show your new device vs. the 7100i that is showing there now. That way when you post, we'll know for sure which device you have
