That is the exact problem I had and RIM had me do a complete uninstall and reinstall due to a jboss/java problem. As I said I was able to do that since I have an HA setup.

I might just do a whole new install of BESX!

Dont really want to but its very tempting at the moment with the BAS not working.

Default Re: BES admin service and web console wont display

Hi.
In response to everyone who is having problems with the BAS webconsole.

Some of you are embarking on a long a fruitless adventure that will end where you started, - looking at a blank web page.

The Webconsole can be broken by just about any system change on the server to do with Java, Account settings, Blackberry's own Service packs, Windows service pack, Windows update, yadda, yadda.

Popular fruitless chases are: chase the webstorekey
Chase the Java update that corrupts it
Chase the ridiculous log file
Change the browser settings every which way
Revert a Java update
And best of all: Check the Multitude of Blackberry KB's that fix nothing. (KB is a complete Misnomer, how about nkb (No knowledge base)

It is a truely awful system, this issue probably gets more hits than ebay has auctions. Blackberry support should offer at least one complimentary support ticket per month to coincide with MS updates, which only seem to break BESX. Don't even count on a full re-install (including DB- which shouldn't be necessary) this may also not work.

Unfortunatley I also use this shoddy product having found this issue on both 5.01 and 5.02 on a completley bog standard win2003 and exchange 2003 server.

Must be off, put my rear strapped jacket on.

This KB solved my problem.

KB23927-BlackBerry Administration Services continually stops and restarts, after an operating system hotfix is applied

I uninstalled the MS hotfixes mentioned in the KB and the BAS console worked again. No need to re-install BES/BAS.

hi

i had bas service problems as well and resolved it last year by removing the 2 hotfixes mentioned

the hotfixes released by MS this month (feb 2011) cause the BAS service to crash again

it is one of these, i don't know which one but i have removed all of them to get the BAS service to work again (bes 5.02 on windows 2008 r2, sql 2008 r2 and bes HA enabled)

- Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2475792)
- Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2479628)
- Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2467023)
- Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2393802)
- Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2454826)
- Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2482017)
- Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2487426)
- Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB976902)
- Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2419640)
- Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2425227)
- Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - February 2011 (KB890830)
- Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2485376)

i am not sure if it is just my environment but it seems that the old hotfixes have been superseded by one of these causing the same issue

regards

It is enough to remove the

Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2393802)

which is a kernel security hotfix. It seems that BAS has a problem with those kind of updates. I really hope that RIM will fix that in the next MR or SP.

Our webconsole was not working since morning but after restarting BAS - NCC services on both BES primary and Standby, it worked like a charm....

in my test environment i faced this same problem when i upgraded from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 and then i simply went for re-installation of all BAS servers 1 and 2 and BES pri and Std, since the database was same so it picked up all the info and it was quick one, took me nearly two hours to re-install 5.0.1 and then upgrade all to 5.0.2 and the administration service worked finally.....

this made me really upset on this product .....wait till windows phone connects us with Exchange server , as the rumours go .....
