Default GMail doesn't store sent items sent through Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am the proud owner of a new 8900. I am loving the device but have had a few headaches in setting up all my email accounts correctly.

I have an unlimited plan from my provider and used the default wizard to setup my gmail account and a few hosted google apps email accounts. And waited for the emails to come...and waited...
Anyway, not one came..

So I tried setting up one account through IMAP and it had instant push functionality.

But, there seems to be a problem. Any mail that I send from my blackberry does not get stored in the Sent Mail portion of Gmail (where all mail sent from gmail web interface gets stored) but gets stored under a label called Sent Items.

So basically this creates 2 sent mail/items stores and gmail web interface has no easy way to move all these mails from this label to the actual sent mail folder.

Sorry for being long winded and this may sound like a noob question, but is there a way I can sync my mail sent from the BB to Gmail, in the proper way?

Regards!

Use IMAP to manage your Gmail in BIS. You'll need to delete and re-add the account, but if you do it with IMAP, it will not add any other labels, and your Sent Mail will be in the correct folder.

Using IMAP should help. Another option is to use the Gmail client for BlackBerry. With it you'll have access to all your folders, sent items will get labeled properly and you won't rely on BIS for email.
