Default How do you upload videos from BB9700 to PC when I can't upload Media Manager?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

My computer has a virus that isn't allowing me to install the CD tools with Media Manager etc. I have a USB cord and wanted to know if I can upload videos from the device to my blog etc without the Media Manager and if so, how would I do this? I have a Dell Windows XP. Thanks!

You can mount the 9700 as a logical drive (device and MicroSD card) and simply drag and drop your video from the BB to your PC hard drive when connected by the USB cable.

You might find it best to set the BB to automatically appear in Windows Explorer -- on the 9700, in Options > Memory, set the Media Card Support and Mass Storage Mode Support to 'On' and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected to 'Yes' and you should be good to go. Plug the BB into the PC and check out Explorer for the newly recognized drives.

BTW I always "Eject" the BB drives before unplugging the device. There are stories of frying the SD card if not always doing this.

Also, if you are recording video with the device, it's gonna be in 3gp format. You will likely need some program to convert that to usable pc format before putting it on your blog.

Seriously, if you have a virus that should be the priority, to get your PC cleaned up.
