You PIN, not your password. Options > Status will show your PIN.

It should be listed in the dropdown automatically

Your BB password might be different from your PC password if you didn't use the ALT key (on the BB). For example, if your password is 1234 on the BB, it will be WERS on the PC.

I wouldn't abort it. That might cause more issues.

I hope you didn't have that much data on it.

That's because you had Content Compression enabled. It can take an hour to wipe as you're noticing.

Hi,

Thankfully no data at all. Its brand new and all my data is on my palm desktop. My treo is ofcourse wiped clean and awaiting being given away.

Now what im looking at doing is getting my pc and BB to sync and then my second hurdle is importing all my palm data into my BB via the switch device wizard in the BB desktop manager. Is this workflow correct ?

Also is it better to leave content compression off. My data wont hog too much space right ? Also i have nearly 2000 contact records, i dont even know if the BB will handle that many.

You don't need content compression on. You BB will handle 2,000 contacts easily.

The Switch Device Wizard should do what you want it to do.

Hi, I just saw the animated demo and as suggested used switch device wizard. It worked. Im glad it did. And thanks to all of you for helping.

I just noticed that the "Notes" application isnt there on my BB ? :( ......Is it tucked away somewhere deep in the menu hierarchy ?

Also can i only sync with OUTLOOK 2007 or will this sync even work with OUTLOOK EXPRESS (cause its a simpler interface). If its possible id like ot know how to add NOTES , CALENDER and such other components to my outlook express as it seems ot only have mail and address book features.

Thanks

Hey nothing to worry about. You can access your notes by simply pressing "D" from the homescreen. ;)

That's only if Dialing From Homescreen is disabled.

Press your Menu Key and select Show All. Do you see the icon grayed out?

Hi,

Thats why i already mentioned that ive tried unhide all on the home screen. Even with all the greyed out icons theres no NOTES appplication at all. Only voice notes. Im talking about NOTE PAD or i dont even know what to call it in BB terms. This phone seems to be a little frustrating. Palm was way more convenient. Im not saying this because of the migration to BB but the phone is just not useable out of the box as palm was. I read that BB offers TASKS and NOTES on board and its just missing. By default it should at least show up on the home screen as its one of the default main apps.

And it keeps on irritating by saying enter PIN password on the connect screen. This happens after i set my device password in security to lock my phone. Now immediately i do that it starts asking for a password when hooked up to the PC. Its so obvious it must be the password which i set. Since its occuring immediately after i set that password. But when i enter that password it says wrong entry try again, 9 more attempts left. In fact i was the one who set my password and set 10 attempts limit. This further proves it to be the same password which i just set 10 mins ago. And the damn thing wont accept it as the correct password. Whats even better is theres no way to clear the password also from the device. You can only switch to a new password.

Thanks

The Notepad should be installed by default. If you can install it via the OS.

It should work right out of the box. You have to keep in mind it is very different than a Palm. You can't expect it to be the same, if so, you will become frustrated at first.

Does your password have numbers? Say your password is 1234. If you don't press the alt key on your device, then the password is really wers, not 1234.

Options > Advanced Options > Applications will show all of your installed applications.

Follow these steps:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

And then when you see the list of applications, make sure to place a checkmark next to notepad. Otherwise, it will not be installed.

I did as you said. And it shows just 4 items.

Blackberry 4.5.0 Core Applications 4.5.0
Blackberry 4.5.0 System Software 4.5.0
Browser 4.5.0
Email Setup Application 4.5.0
Phone 4.5.0

Thats it. Nothing else listed there. If you expand any of those above mentioned items all you get is cryptic tech notes and not even a menu or anything. :(

Go into DM and select App Loader, and then select Update Applications. You should see the list there.

You have an AZERTY keyboard. This is a french device. Nothing you can do to change this. Where did you get the device?
