Default Auto Cap?

Please Login to Remove!

In the grand scheme of things, this is pretty minor, but is there a way to turn off or control the auto cap after a period? When I'm using an abbreviation or acronym, it can get annoying to have to type the letter twice and backspace over it.

I'm assuming the answer is no, but thought I'd ask anyway.

do you mean typing it then backspapcing and typing IT holding the shift down?

if so, there is a way the BB takes care of that. while you are typing instead of the typical short stroke to get a letter do a longer stroke and it will cap the letter just pressed, couple of millisenconds and you dont have to worry about going back and doing caps lock or shift.

hope that helps

Nah, I think the op meant how it auto caps the first letter of a word right after a period, even if that period is only used for a word abbreviation instead of the end of a sentence. Goal is to NOT have it capitalize that first letter after the period without too much trouble.

Yes it is quite irritating ; what I always do is to type the small letter after the first alphabet ; backspace and delete it. I don't think there is any simpler solution for now

This is correct. That was exactly the question.

Maybe someday there will be an answer. How about the opposite of how to get a capital by holding down the letter key? When the capital letter is auto inserted, holding down the letter makes it lower case. That would be less of a pain than the backspace and retyping the letter.

Oh well, it was worth asking.
