Called e-care and they told me they would put in a manual request for it and get back to me. Guess I have to just keep on waiting.

I got my card today. Less than a week for delivery. The funny thing was that the card was pre-loaded with some bare naked ladies videos and MP3s. Did anybody else get the same? I'm wondering if I received a returned card.

Rogers is pretty messed up but in a good way today. I just received my 2nd 1Gb memory card in error. I only have 1 phone so I assume that I should only get 1 card.

I got another and it has the same songs on it. I noticed on the packing slip that the part number had the word "music" in it. Must be a promotion.

Kind of weird since you can't access the media from the phone until you use the Media Manager to move the files over to the appropriate folders.

Does anyone know what the message "Do you want to turn on Mass Storage Mode?" means? It just started happening now that I have the 1 Gb memory when I connect the PC to the phone with the USB cable.

Is this message from your OS (ie: Linux, Windows, OSX) or from the Pearl? Mass Storage Mode would indicate it wants to format the card memory to use the entire space as one directory instead of separating into individual directories (ie: Video, Music, etc).

As for receiving your 1 GB memory card can you clarify if the courier was UPS or Canada Post? Also what are the specs on the card (ie: manufacturer and speed)?

i ordered my pearl THE DAY it came out (oct 3/4 i think) so i had it about 3.5 weeks before the promo came out. when it did come out i tried the website maybe a dozen times over the course of a couple weeks and every time it rejected my submission.

then yesterday i called customer relations and said i understand its a new promo, but i did get the phone less than a month before and if there was anything they could do id appreciate it.

the relations agent said she cant give me the promo but if i buy a mem card from a rogers authorized dealer and fax her the bill she'll credit my account for the value. do i did that and faxed her the bill today. then for the hell of it, after not trying to maybe 2 weeks now, i went back to the memory promo site and filled it in again and it went through!

i dont get this but ill sure be happy if i end up with 2 x 1GB cards!

Message is from the Pearl. I answered no and have directories. It asks me this question every time I connect with the BB Desktop.

The memory card came via Canada Post, it is a SanDisk but I can't see a speed labeled on it. It comes with a microSD/TransFlash Adapter.

And it came with a video and some mp3's.

I signed up for the promo, they sent me a 1gb card then 3 days later I receivd a second 1gb card. I'll take it, thanks to whomever made the mistake at Rogers!

I would imagine, since it seems like you all got the same files on the cards, that it is promotional and intended to be there. Similar marketing tactics are used with Windows OS (media player), and a variety of MP3 players.

My friend got 2 of the rogers micro sds in the mail which was good as I missed the deal by 2 days.

The Mass Storage Mode prompt doesn't have anything to do with formatting the card!

The pearl is asking you, "Do you want your computer to see my memory card as a removable hard drive?" If you say yes, then you'll notice a new harddrive, like "Removable Disk F:\" in My Computer, or a new mounted disk on OS X.

That means you can transfer music to your blackberry by opening the drive, and going to blackberry\music\ and copying your music over. Handy!

The downside is that the memory card can only be accessed by one device at a time. In "Mass Storage Mode", the computer sees it, but the card becomes invisible to the Pearl. If you want to play music off your card while it is plugged into the computer, you'll need to say No to mass storage mode.

If you go into Options>Advanced Options>Media Card you'll see the option to change Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected to Yes, No or Prompt.

i also got two, so did 3 of my other friends...

yeah...im pretty sure its a promotional thing to preload media on it. From what i remember the promotion was for phones that could play music and videos. I guess this way, if you have no music or videos yet, this gives you something to play.
