Default Locked/Secure wifi network

Man, I wish I wouldn't have come across this thread. I have an 8310 and am considering exchanging it for an 8320. Can you use wifi if the wireless network is locked/secure?

Same general situation as with a laptop. If the network has a password, you'll need it for the 8320 to connect.

It's more finiky than laptops, so even when a laptop would connect it's not a guarantee. But overall it's a nice extra capability.

You most certianly can...just watch out for some of the higher speed wireless routers.I think b n g are fine but n won't connect. Hopefully the new firmware will take care of some of the speed burst g routers

Does it cost anything when Wi-Fi is connected? Would you need an unlimited data plan? What about Wi-Fi calling?

If you want WiFi, Camera, and GPS, you can get an 8320 and add a GPS puck like the i-Blue 737 Bluetooth GPS Receiver for $50. AFAIK, there's no such thing as a WiFi puck you could add to an 8310.

If you just want WiFi and GPS, but are not interested in a camera, I believe that there is an 8820 coming out soon from TMo.
