On my home screen I have icons for Google search, news and mail. With the search and news I can't remember how I got them there, can anyone help? I feel like an idiot for asking.

sounds like you added applications for them. check under options > advanced > applications. do you see the programs there?

Google has a Blackberry application for search (and other things)
