Default Can't PIN or IM from Verizon to ATT

Please Login to Remove!

I am on AT&T and a friend is on Verizon. I can send her a PIN and she can read it. She can reply to it and it does show "D" for delivered, but my device never shows it. When we try to use BB Messenger both phones see the request but can't make the connection. I have no problems with other AT&T or Sprint users. Just Verizon.

Mine:
Bold
4.6.0.234
AT&T
BES 4.1.6 MR2

Hers:
8830
4.2.2.176 or lets just say 4.2.2.xxx
Verizon
BES 4.1.5

Any ideas?

It's possible one of your BES's restricts the PIN/IM messaging.

One of your BES IT Policies could restrict PIN messaging, likely hers. Does she have issues with PIN messages with any one else?

Well, I am assuming it is hers because our Sheriff and other elected officials only PIN and we PIN between AT&T and Sprint all day long. Her BES Manager doesn't understand the difference between Desktop Manager 4.5 and Device Software. He became pretty intimidated quick when I start asking about PINs and their BES settings. His reply to me was "Blackberrys don't PIN, that is a Palm feature he wont allow on his network".

So needless to say I was hoping it was something that doesn't involve him.

Whoop! Sounds like someone left Boudreaux in charge of the BES! Not good!

Troubleshoot it... see IF she can PIN with another user ON her BES, and if she can PIN with another user outside her BES, perhaps someone on no BES.

We have an Oracle Users Group coming up in the next week. Herself as well as her Director will be there. I will see if they can PIN each other. Good tip.
