Default no voice mail icon

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my Bold since it was released on AT&T on 11/4/2008. I have upgraded several times to beta releases because of different problems that I was experiencing or different features I was seeking. When I upgraded to .219, that was the first time I noticed the Visual Voice Mail application is included. I also noticed that I no longer had the regular voice mail icon to indicate that I have a voice message. Does anyone know if the two are mutually exclusive? I'm using Youmail, so I don't need the VVM app. I would like to have my voice mail indicator back though. Anyone have any ideas?

I've not seen any indication that this was a planned by-product of visual voicmail capabilty. My assumption is that it is a bug, which would not be uncommon in a beta release.

Some of the OS upgrades are set up for visual voice mail (which is not available yet). It's not a bug in the OS. Because of that you loose you vm icon. If you want it back you need to use a program like crackutil (do a google) to delete the three files that have VVM in it. Then your icons will come back. WARNING be careful with crackutil, you CAN screw up your BB. But it's pretty easy to use. Deleting one of the files will cause your bb to reset, that's normal.

Or you can wait for March 25th when AT&T possibly enables VVM.
