Nice.

Kinda suprised WiFi is so poor. Maybe I will try.

If you enter Engineering Mode you can force WiFi to Full Power and it appears faster.

Once on the Engineering Screen (Alt-Shift-H)
you go to this site by opening the browser on the phone with the Task Switcher or use a computer (easier to use a computer)

http://absolous.no-ip.com/projects/escreen/index.php

Fill in the blanks provided by the Blackberry Engineering Screen and select 30-days.

Enter the code the website gives you and type it on the phone while on the escreen. You wont see what your typing, but as soon as you type the last character, the Engineering Menu Appears.

To Force WiFi to Maximum goto:

1. WiFi 802.11 Engineering Screens
2. Scroll down to Driver (just below Actions)
3. Choose Power Modes
4. Scroll down to Active (Below Set Power Mode)
4a. If you wanna restore this to power save press Alt-shift-H and return to the WiFi menu here, follow item 1-3, select Auto or reboot the phone by pressing Alt-shift-delete or pull the battery.

Your now in full power mode.

To force the CPU to 624mhz press alt-shift-h (or just press the back button if you've done the previous step)

1. Select OS Engineering Screens
2. Choose Battery
3. Choose Core Frequency Screen
4. Press the Blackberry Menu Button (left of scroll)
5. Select DVFM Toggle (This Enable/Disables CPU Throttling..In this case it turns it off)
6. Press the Blackberry Menu Button again
7. Choose Set Apps Core to 624mhz
7a. To restore the CPU to Power Save (Throttling) follow the previous steps and on option when pressing the BB Button choose DVFM Toggle again or reboot/battery pull.
If you do both, your WiFi and CPU will be running at maximum. These methods work on all devices I have tested so far from software 4.5, 4.6.x, 4.7 and 5.0. The screens listed here are specific to 5.0.0.xxx software. 4.x.x.xx software is essentially the same with some barely minor variations in WiFi, but whomever should be able to find it.

I think the 8900 has a ULV CPU without Throttling and stuck @ 512mhz. Reply back and lemme know. However, it does have the WiFi power mode and you should see a benefit. Its just located in a slightly different menu under WiFi Engineering unless you upgraded it 5.0.

On my 8900 I'm finding both settings. (Wifi setting is in slightly different location) my processor speed options are 399mhz and 532mhz. I can't get the setting to stick. When I tell it to run at 532 it jums right back to 399. Even after disabling DVFM. I really want to get this to work. I often get a spinning clock, and I'm not worried about the additional battery usage

I must be doing something wrong. Everyone seems like they are impressed with this phone, but I feel like returning it and keeping my 8900.
