Well I've been following these directions on how to download OS6 for my blackberry 9300, I got the file from starhub. There are no problems that I encountered, its just that the directions to download the OS6 says to c:\program files\common files\\R.I.M\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."Vista/Win7 users:in the apploader folder,simply click on "compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. I know this is long but I don't where the "compatibility files" are ! Any help ? ( Btw I'm using a windows vista xp laptop )

same thing im running windows vista home edition there is no compatibility button in the apploader folder.

guys i figured out how to do it. You need to get a program called BBSAK.

after installing the 6.00 OS to your system and BBSAK

Open BBSAK... Wipe data... phone will say 507 error... click load OS then select the OS from the list and it will install w no probs.

****This will delete all your data if you want to backup you have to follow directions in BBSAK

In Windows 7 the file is located in:

64bit = C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\vendor.xml

32bit = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\vendor.xml

Try to download OS 6.0.0.357 from Freakshare. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device.
