Yep, that was going to be my suggestion. Glad you got it working. Unfortunately, the "key file" concept doesn't work so well on on mobile devices. I'll make some notes in the readme to clarify but I can't really think of a good solution.

Remy,

It's running very stable for me. No problems at all in the last two releases. So, I think you may be ready for release of 1.0. Congrats!

paste isn't working. I mean it pastes but not what I copied as it tends to be twice as long at least and fails unless I manually type in the pass. Not a showstopper obviously.

Hmmm. I thought I tested that but you're right. I'll fix it for the release. RIM's code signing servers have been down since Saturday so I can't do much.

Are you doing a select and paste on the password or is there a feature I am missing? I don't see any option to paste into a web form unless I view the entry , select the password and switch out to the web form. This seems to work fine on my Pearl. How secure is this approach? Is it possible to retrieve the password from the clipboard or does it remain encrypted like the desktop version?

BTW: I concur. The app seems very stable to me. GREAT JOB RemyJ!!! As soon as I'm not dead broke, I'll donate to the cause.

No, your talking about something different. I mean the database password to initially login to the db. my password is long and weird symbols which is a pain to type in on the bb so I have it saved in a memopad and copy and paste it. Thats secure as my bb itself is locked so no one will see the pass and if they do they wouldn't even know what it was for.

This is in release 1.0, when creating a new entry. For the URL entry, if you don't use "http" then it capitalizes the first letter and you can't make it lower case. IE if you enter Members.test.com there is no way to make the "M" lower case. It also doesn't make it a link.

Not sure if this feature has been requested yet, but a prompt to save or confirm changes might be nice. I find it is a lot easier to fat finger using the BB and sometimes just looking around a change can be accidentally done.

Another feature I would like to see is some navigation. The auto search is nice, but if I drill down into a group that has a few pages of entry, a page down/up button would be nice, or a back button that takes you back a level in the tree.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Can't really do much about the URL entry field. That's what RIMs implementation does. I could pre fill the field with "http://" for you.

I had the prompt in there in the early betas then took it out. I can add it back in, with an option to disable.

Good suggestion on navigation. How about some ALT key shortcuts?

Default Can't uninstall

Can you tell me how to get the older versions so I can uninstall and then upgrade my version please? I get an error that I can't upgrade until the older version is removed and it won't remove until it finds the original installation source.

The version I have installed is 0.4.263

Thanks.

I appreciate it.

I am looking for a password manager that does OTA sync with a desktop application. Is there anything out there? I assume this app doesn't do that? Any chance of taking it that far? Be glad to help or donate if this is possible.

No OTA synch now but I suppose it's possible. Let me think about it some.

Thanks!

Not sure, but it might be cool if there were an online OTA sync service/API for Blackberry apps, so other people could add functionality to other apps. Might be a business opp?

If you feel comfortable using the registry editor, can you check this key and see what it says?

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{15CA5DCD-15C9-4A04-A4AC-55E87A45075A}\FileDefaults

There should be an entry called "CurrentFile" which is where the file pathname is stored when you select your database file from the "Configure" button.
I am having the same problem.
I checked the registry and the entry was empty.
I tried with the file name only and with the full path.
It does not work.
Any more ideas?
Thanks
Michael

Ok I found it.
My normal user account does not have admin rights. So I installed KeePass for BB as local Administrator.
When logged back on as normal user it worked so far, but it did not recognize the path for the db file.
So I gave myself admin rights and did a repair on the installation.
Then it worked. I took away admin rights from my user account and it still works.

Another issue:
I have imported entries from a AnyPassword csv file. In the KeePass PortableApp it worked without problems. But after syncing to the BlackBerry I got the error message as attached.
I did some manual cleanup of the entries and removed everything in the backup folder and deleted the database on the BlackBerry.
After the next synchronization it works.
It seems that the BlackBerry version of KeePass can't handle some entries the PortableApp version can produce.

Anyway a wonderful program.
The ability to sync with a PortableApp program and therefore enabling me to keep my passwords 100% mobile and secure on a USB stick and on my BlackBerry makes KeePass superior to all commercial products. (I evaluated the 4 most know ones)

I donated a few bucks and will do again the more stable KeePass gets and so should anyone who uses it.
Thanks.

Michael

I love it when users find problems, find the answers themselves, then DONATE!

Seriously, thanks for the words and donation. I'll look at the PortableApp version of KeePass and see if I can identify the problem.

Well it does not work....
Same error again on the BlackBerry when I try to sync.
To fix it I have to delete the database on the BB and start over.
I have set my BB to read-only for now and only upload a new db if needed.

Before you sync, have you entered the database password on the BlackBerry at least once since turning it on?

I tried both.
KeePassBB closed and KeePassBB open.
There error only shows up after a sync. When I open the db file from the sdcard or when I sync initially (with no db on the BB) it works.

I have a 8800 with 4.2.1.101 firmware and plenty of free memory.
