Default New Storm user looking for suggestions

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys Im new to the BB and also am not that computer literate!
However Im ebjoying the uses of the BB phone and Im loving the internet!

I have the storm and I have a few basic questions if you guys could help me!

1. When I use the phone sometimes (few times a day), it will freeze while showing the time clock dial spinning as if its loading something? It can take up to 2-3 minutes before i can use the phone again? Basically when I switch apps, like going from contacts to email, or contacts to sms/text folder ETC.
Whats the fix if there is any? Also why is this happening?

2. Also while using the phone, my fat cheek keeps hitting the mute button. Is there a way to lock the screen?

3. Also while my job has me traveling, I am fortunate enough to bring my daughter, and (smarter than me) she says I could download a movie? Do I need cords from box? Is there a website? Where so I start?

FWIW I have a storm and Im a beginner with the phone and also very basic computer skills!

HELP

Wow, I think you need a few more exclamation points in your title dude.

2. There's an application out there that locks the screen while on a call...do a search. Its out there somewhere.

For future posts, please use a title that is more relevant. Maybe "New Storm user looking for suggestions" other than "help!!!"

1) Do you have any applications running in the background. Running multiple applications at once will cause the device to run slow. Also, a battery pull will clear that up.

2) This has been discussed a lot. A search of the forums would have found you this : http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-face-fix.html

3) If you enable mass storage mode, you can connect your device to your PC with the USB cable and copy movies to your media card.

I couldn't have worded it better.

And if you find the sub forum for your BB model, these issues are staring you right in the face in the form of thread titles. An operating system upgrade might be the solution for your primary issue.

Welcome to the forums!

1. The clock is an indication that memory is used up. A battery pull should clear it up... Also, a OS software upgrade will help... I'm running beta OS 4.7.0.109 and I rarely get the hourglass.

2. Thrre is a pretty nice FREE program called TalkLock that you can find online using google. You can even download it OTA (Over The Air) using your storm browser. It gives you a bar that requires you to drag your finger over it to unlock the screen during a call.

3. You can watch videos on your storm if they are the right format. You can also convert dvd's to the right format using software you can find online. I watch movies from time to time on my phone, but it takes quite a bit of time to convert dvds.
