I did not see Stinsondog post about this.

Using the Cingular Theme if you move/place the Application Folder before the Address Book on the home screen and you hit "A" it will open the App. Folder. Move it back and hit "A" it will open the Address Book.

Interesting find. Still doesn't make it functional as I need the address book shortcut too as I keep a bit of info in the Notes field. Also still two presses to get to some apps.
