Default "Company Main Phone" field in Address Book?

Please Login to Remove!

I really can't figure this out, and haven't found any threads on this forum.

Does BB Address Book have a "Company Main Phone" field? (All my "Company Main Phone" numbers in Outlook don't sync with the BB Address Book.)

If not, is there a way of getting it - I can't believe the guys at RIM haven't thought about it.

I'd appreciate any help - or indeed any posts on this. Thanks

Not the Address Book, but you can put your company's main number under Smart Dialing (click on phone icon, then Options, then Smart Dialing).

Once you set your main number, you can then just dial extensions within your company by dialing x1234 (or whatever the extension is - but with the 'x').

No I meant is there a field called "Company Main Phone" in Address Book contacts?

For example, could I put the company phone number for the company that John Doe works for in my Address Book on the BB. Outlook has a field called "Company Main Phone" - but this is never copied on to the BB.)

I'm using Office 2003 SP2. It's abbreviated to "Company" when you press the drop-down button next to one of the phone fields. But if you go to the "All Fields" tab in a contact and select "Phone number fields" where it says "Select from:" then you'll find "Company Main Phone"

I'm having this problem because I recently migrated from Treo, in which had quite a few numbers listed as "Main" - i.e. main company number.

Very annoying...

looks like you have a special edited name in the outlook address fields. I had the same and because the BB sorts on either first or last it was a problem. I ended up creating groups with unique last names for the same name. example I have six voice mails to call and use a different last name and the first name of Vmail. one vmail, two vmail etc.
Anyway for me that was the fix.

No perhaps I am not making myself clear enough.

John Doe works at ABC, Inc

John Doe's direct telephone number is 1234. In Outlook this can go under "Business" in the "Phone numbers" section of any contact card

ABC Inc's main company tel is 9999 - this can go under "Company" in the "Phone numbers" section

My problem is that the number under "Company" is not transferred to the BB because, amazingly, the BB Address Book does not appear have a field called "Company phone" or "Company main".

Or am I missing something??

Ok,
Set the number in the same area as the comany name. The BB does not have a listing showing company main number ,Outlook does. The name is transfered.

ABC 212-555-5555

I cannot find a way to customize the names in the BB contacts. Maybe someone can.
