sadly, no, Bell doesn't take in any trade-ins.. you'll probably have to find a new owner for your 6750 before the 7250 comes out.. |

Please please please. I need two of these ASAP. I was starting to fall out of favour with my 6750, 4.0 has given me new life to that. I want Bluetooth and colour, please let me see the light of colour.
I hope one of us is right about the upcoming models.  |

I have to agree that the 7100 is a long shot for February. Heck RIM does not have it anywhere in the world. Who would think that Bell Mobility could be the first.

I do not care personally if Bell has the 7100 show up. I want the 7250 which mark and others have made mention about. If I can have it by March I will be loving life again.

I was told the 7100 was going to be out at the end of January also. I am very disapointed, I have been waiting for it to be my first BB since it was released. I do not understand why CDMA is such a pain. When you speak to the Bell reps they are always saying that they are taking their time testing it to get it right.

Actually, the 7100, a GSM/GPRS BlackBerry is in several countries, with several different variations (7100t, v, r, g, and x). Now if you meant to say RIM does not have a CDMA 7100 anywhere, that is another story. |

if you've used a traditional bb with the standard tear-drop keyboard, you will have a difficult time transitioning to a 7100-like cdma device. it will be frustrating for a while to get used to typing on it.
if you've always used a regular cellphone and are using a 7100-like cdma device as your first bb, then you'll love it.
my two cents. ive used a gprs 7100 series device and had to switch back.

I agree with your 2 cents.... I had bought a 7100 with rogers but did not like the keyboard layout. I thought I could get use to it but I was wrong. I sold it and bought a 7750 with telus and just love the QWERT layout
I recommened testing out a unit before buying one. See if a friend has one you can use, or go into the store and test out one of the demo units there. Try typing a memo and see how you do. Of cource practice makes perfect and you cant make a conclusion just by playing around with it for for minutes.... but you do get kind of an idea.

Sorry. That was exactly what I meant to say. Bell never seems to be at the bleeding edge so I imagine once a CDMA 7100 does exist it will be a year before I can get one :( |

looks like the 7250 will be released for Bell in the beginning of march.. the price will be $549 for no term attached.. and $399 on a 3 year term..

yes, if you sign up for data for at least 12 months, you will get an additional $100 off the $399, so your net price will be $299.

actually.. no, it's not "so Bell Mobility"... you're in luck, it also applies for hardware upgrade customers as well, as long as you're getting data for 12 months, you're good to go.
expect this unit next week.. it has been released for the stores to order today, so they should be hitting stores next week... can't wait to get mine.. |

Bell Mobility customer service has been really good to me and put through hardware upgrade rebate credits for me after only a few months a couple of times; just call *611 on your handset and ask nicely for what you want. I've even gotten tech's to give me unlock codes in the past, these guys are the best! I switched to Bell from Cantel (Rogers) many years ago in the era of pagers and cellular bricks due to extremely unfriendly service from Cantel and haven't been sorry. It could be that Bell makes exceptions for longtime customers who spend alot on airtime, but good luck getting Rogers to do the same. As for delays in CDMA technology, all CDMA technologies are owned by Qualcomm and the guys that run Qualcomm are dicks who don't care about producing products quickly to compete with GSM. Just my 2 cents, I hope this helps. |
