Default Help Please

Please Login to Remove!

we currently using BES 4.1 and have about 300 users on it, Exchange 2003 is our mail server software.

The problem is one particular users 8100 blackberry keeps re-activating itself randomly, this could happen once a month or so, it just goes off and re-activates itself.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

never seen that ..

Wipe the device, remove the user from the BES and on the user's pc run DBclean.exe

Re-stage user, activate BB.

I'm having the same problem. I have a user who I've been working on for several weeks. I have wiped his device and re-added him to the server serveral times. I did not do the DBclean because we do not use the Desktop Manager here. I even re-created his Exchange account. He was fine for about a week and a half. Now his Blackberry shows that is was trying to re-activate and it's "initializing" the AutoText and all of the other options are "completed". When this happens, the user can no longer send/receive emails and sometimes the activation never completes.

When I setup new Blackberrys I create a MAPI profile for the user and then use Desktop Manager to facilitate the activation. We are in a windowless office so its easier for me to do it that way.

Has anyone else seen an issue like this?

Might try wireless (wifi) activation if the device supports it.

I think we have solved the problem. In AD on the General Tab, the users SMPT address is different than his Primary SMTP address. I'll make sure the addresses are the same and then see what happens.

Default AD fields are not the cause

I have the same problem with "Autotext - initializing". All fields in AD are correct.

Hi Guys,

I am having the same problem with users loosing email and the enterprise activation stuck in Autotext - Initializing. I have had to reactivate over 200 users in the past 6 months, some of which keep having problems and have had over 5 reactivations.

Any progress as to why?

Cheers,

Tim
