Default Changed Carrier / Changed Phone - Some Problems

Please Login to Remove!

I just changed from Telus / 9700 to Bell / 9900.

The dealer was supposed to transfer everything from the 9700 to the 9900.

When the 9900 boots, there is a message saying that the media card is encrypted and must be decrypted using the original phone. I no longer have the original phone. Can I wipe the card? If so, how?

I had several apps installed on the 9700 which were visible in blackberry app world. I understood that blackberry app world would move the apps from the 9700 to the 9900. If I login to blackberry app world on my PC without the 9900 connected, I see the apps. When I connect the 9900, the apps disappear. How do I move the apps to the 9900?

Thanks!

If you have the original device, you need you need to insert the card into it, decrypt it, and turn off encryption.

The reason you don't see the apps is they may not work on the 9900's OS version or they may not be touch-enabled. Have you searched for them in the 9900's App World?

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have the old phone so I ended up formatting the media card. There was some junk on it from the previous phone so it's probably better anyway.

For some reason, the app world website did not see the apps on the phone until after I went into my world on the phone and reinstalled them from there. All of the apps except one were compatible. It took a lot jumping through hoops to get the phone and the website consistent, but it is now.
