Default Using Blackberry in China

Does anyone here have experiences using Blackberries in China? I am planning a trip and wonders should I bring BB or a "regular" cell phone. What I have done in the past is to get a SIM card in China and plug into my unlocked cell phone to get a local number and calling rates. Wondering if I can do the same with BB and still receive emails.

I have an 8700c with an international voice and data package from Cingular and it works very well in the major cities of China. I have not used a local SIM card so am not sure if they would be available with data.

I have an 8700g with TMO and it works in Shanghai. I have the international unlimited data add on. I didn't use it for voice because I did not want to pay the roaming cost....but it worked fine for data, email, etc. and that was all included in the intl add on.

if u wanna change a local sim card ,with your BB,it can't recieve emails through your BB.Cause there's no email service for Chinese users in China.

but just use BB as cell phone, that's very cool.

and in China,BB's getting mor popular for Chinese young users, however it doesn't get the email service. What a pity!

I'm Chinese, and got BB7290 nearly two month,i'm so excited with BB.By the way.
