When you create a new sms to someone..what does the countdown start at...:


eg:
Rogers

912


Heres the thing ..im trying to find a way to take the cap down to 160..so it starts at 160

I actually got to go threw RIM tech support..and they told me this cap is set within the OS...the only person that COULD change it..is the Carrier Programming Department.....

Unless theres another carrier that has caped it..to 160 already...

Do you mean countdown of the available characters that you can enter?

160 is the standard across the board, from my knowledge. Even if you could send more than 160, the person reading the SMS would see it cut off and/or simply not receive it. You will not be able to change this setting on your phone (and if you could, as I said, it would not matter), so go ahead and stop searching for a way to do so.

ya thats what i thaugh..but still..its a pain...
1st : Always need to have you eye oin the counter..not to go under 752 (912-160(
2nd: Its fine and dandy..to send as much as i want..but the problem..is when you get the bill!!!
