Default Upgrade/move db from MSDE to SQL?

Please Login to Remove!

Argh, due to corporate policies, I need to move the BES db, which is stored locally on the BES server using MSDE to a remote full blown SQL server. Has anyone done this before? What does it involve?

I have done this and went kinda smooth.
Just remember to while useing SSMS, log in with BesAdmin so the permissions dont get screwed up on the DB.

is what I did

Hi there. Thanks for sharing the info. What is SSMS log?

In addition, why do you first need to create a blank db with BES schema by using createdb.exe on the SQL server? Can't you just backup the database from MSDE, restore it to SQL and then point BES to the new location? Thanks

SSMS = Sql Server managment Studio

You have to use creatDB in oreder to have the agent jobs and all the correct settings on SQL.
