hello everyone, i just have a small question

when i created my hotmail account 10 years ago i put frank as my first name, but my real first name is francois

i was able to change it in my hotmail account

but when i send email from my blackberry, it still says frank!!

any idea how to fix this? i think i checked everywhere and all the options..

Set up a new e-mail account with Francois instead of Frank in the name.

but i will loose my email? or you delete your account and make another right after?

Your old account will no longer be is use, though if you choose, you may forward mail from your Frank account to your Francois account and update all your contacts with your new e-mail address. Hopefully people will begin to use your new addy.

Did you go into the email settings on the BlackBerry and look at the "Your Name" field for that email address?

Email Settings > Log In > Select the email address > Edit

ok i see the option to put a name with gmail but not with hotmail..

i might just go with gmail...

If there's no option in Hotmail, then it "should" pick up the settings from the server.

But if it's not, then there is nothing you can do.

GMail is a better option all the way around anyway.

by the way Motorcycle Mama, do you know how gmail sync works?

for exemple, i modified a contact by adding its birthday on my blackberry, then i do a sync, but when i look on my computer, on gmail, my contact doesnt have its birthday added. i have to add it at both places?? my blackberry and my computer?

I don't sync my Contacts with GMail.

Did you try it? What happens?

lets say i add a birth date to a contact on my blackberry, well, i have to re-enter it in my contacts in my gmail account manually, this info that i added, will not sync with the contact in my gmail account

so everyone edit the contacts twice (on the blackberry AND on the computer) each time they add info to a contact?
