Default Looking to purchase BB 7290 unlocked

Please Login to Remove!

I am looking to purchase an unlocked BB 7290. I am using a cell service called Centennial Wireless in Northern Michigan. They do NOT offer any BB services. Is this going to be an issue in terms of getting my internet and emails set up? Also, with the unlocked versions is there still like a specific data plan that only RIM offers or can I use the reg. net like on my Motorola Q?

Thanks

If your carrier doesn't offer BlackBerry service yes you will have a problem. BlackBerry's require a BlackBerry Data Plan to preform any sort of data function ie email, web, third party apps. BlackBerry's communicate through RIM's secure servers for data and RIM's servers only. There is no work around for this, without a BlackBerry Data Plan you'll only have voice and sms.

There are some good deals on EBAY - I grabbed one for about $45 a few weeks ago.

Brand new, in the box, and unlocked. I wanted an Unlocked GSM phone for traveling to CHINA in addition to my Pearl.

I think with shipping the total was about sixty or so.

Do a little snooping there - look for high sales score merchants who are more likely to have the real deal.

Default Centennial Wireless

Centennial Wireless is looking to get BlackBerry service, I know they had it on their website until recently saying "comming soon"

I currently use an unlocked Curve on Centennial Wireless, email won't work and internet won't either till they get their BB servers up and running (which they should be very soon)

Hope this helps some.
