As with most rules, I'm sure there's a reason for it. But most people just cleverly find a work around and don't complain about it.

It is a very common rule.

As much as the BBF Mods love chasing spammers around (*cough*), the 10 posts rule is great. It helps us to easily spot and remove thread-crappers who are posting nonsense just so that they can get to 10 posts and start leaving their spam-advertising links everywhere.

It can be a little frustrating to real users, but it is a massive help in keeping BBF "tidy" in these days of almost non-stop spam attempts
