Helloz! I love my BB and especially my BB Bold Touch.

For my business, I need to have global concalls and all of my clients and contacts are on Skype. But there is no Skype for BB.

If we can all request BB to release a Skype for BB app, it would be great.

I managed to download from skype.com/m and instal an app but on loading it says it can ONLY work with a Telekomset SIM (or some name close to that).

Can I request the community to send out the requests?

I know Skype has been arrogant about this, but I cant change 100s of clients and ask them to come on to some other platform :(

Who should we send out the requests to? Skype is now owned by MICROSOFT. I don't see them help out the BlackBerry Community much. Any suggestions?

to Skype itself. They should shut down their iOS and Android apps if they really push their own OS. The fact is, BB has a lot of negative publicity and dwindling marketshare and app davelopers don't feel its worth their while. If Skype gets hundreds and thousands of requests, they may consider.

Out here in India everyone is using BBs. I have a team of over 10 on BBs. If I am to use Skype, which EVERYONE uses worldwide, (most people don't they there is competition), I may have to shift to iOS and Android over 3G.

My team is spread over the town and we often have to join in on group calls. Skype charges for group video calls.

Use BBM if everyone has BlackBerrys. Be creative. I very much doubt you will see Skype on a BB soon (unless Microsoft - WHO OWNS SKYPE) buys RIM.

true, but Skype is available for iOS and Android as well. And microsoft owns Skype. iTunes is owned by apple, but is available for windows as well.

and BBM is not feasible because not everyone is on BB, but everyone DOES video-chat on Skype.

With the way things are going at RIM these days...that may happen sooner rather than later. Dwindling share prices make RIM an attractive takeover target...

skype exists only on verizon in the US i believe using their 9930. there is an alternate for the rest of the world that integrates skype functions called "IM+ Talk". The paid version uses Skype HOWEVER, reviews are coming in that there are sound problems unred OS7. Supposedly and os7 optimized version is in the works. It has a free trial and costs 9.99 here in Canada, eh? :p

Skype mobile is out for Blackberry.

Verizon signed an exclusivity contract to only allow skype mobile to function on verizon devices... I want to say it was for 5 years.

I think there are still 2-3 more years on that.

Imi is ok but not killer and seems to disconnect alot, but it is still in beta.

I believe you can find messages here asking for Skype for BB that are at least 2 years old and nothing happened

May have a chance of seeing it on a PlayBook long before a BB Device. How are you supposed to video chat without an FF camera? If Skype is that important, pick up an Android or iOS device.

EDIT: wait just saw that it's compatible from OS 5.0 +, no idea about 7.0, how ever the OP on the french board said he put it on his Torch meaning works at least on OS6.
