Default CALLING SEIDIO - 3500mAh Charging Dock

Please Login to Remove!

I know that I'm not the only one who needed more juice out of their bold, so I purchased the Seido 3500mAh battery. I'm in love. I do 6 hours + phone and more email and data than I can contemplate, and my battery more than lasts through the entire day. My only issue is that I have 4 of the RIM OEM charging docks, and with this extended battery, it no longer fits in them.

I'm asking for someone over at seidio to make an "adapter" for the OEM Desktop Cradle that would just slip into it, and allow it to take a Bold with their 3500mAh battery. I don't imageine that it would be a hard task, its only a piece of molded plastic and two metal leads which need to be routed.

I know that if they made one, I'd buy 4 of them right off the bat. Its actually the only thing keeping me from purchasing more extended batteries for the employees at my company.

I'll even send Seidio one of my cradles for measuring and testing.

So what do you say Seidio? Think you're up to the task?

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but this is what I have for my Bold. I use the usb extension wire and lay the phone next to the charger when I'm charging with the Seidio attached. Might do until they decide to release something. Plus I can also charge my original battery at the same time.

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000 (AT&T))

Well this is good news that someone from Seidio has passed this on. I can't imaging that its a very difficult task. I look forward to hearing from you about it. I know it would make my life easier.

Ok... Since I got these things pretty cheap online (only 10$ + Shipping), I decided to see what they are made of.

So after about an hour of work and a dremmel, I found out that you can dremmel out the back of the charger, and the bold fits in perfectly with Seidio's battery.

I would post pictures, but it came out looking horrible. I will attempt tomorrow with another one, and try to be more careful, now that I know exactly where to cut.

Here are some pics of the finished product, cleaned up considerably. Any idea on what I can use to cover up the huge hole?

Also, here is a link to get one cheap!
