Spent 2 hours on the phone with Audible support. We fixed it, but what a pita...

Deleted all files off the card and added them back on one by one. Can see all now.

Ouch... 2 hours with level one support. Might have just renamed using mediaplayer app, let it scan and then rename back...

I have been a member since Oct 2001, so you have me beat by a few months. I mainly listen to my books on my PPC though. I have a 9530 and am on a BES, so the new software won't let me download OTA.
A while back, Audible made me move to their new plans...how did you stay on the legacy?

I think I can help. I will PM you and we can work on this. It is posted up above, but is probably lost in the mess. Since I can no longer edit the top post, this thread has gotten messy.

I ignored them. They finally quit asking. Figured they would make me, but they didn't. That is another good one. Anyone else still on the legacy plan?

No legacy plan here. I buy too many audiobooks and it worked out that one of the other plans is less expensive overall.

Having the book start playing after a phone call is sure annoying.

Any news on a new update? Are they still working on this?

There hasn't been a new build in a few days, but I do know that they have fixed the phone call bug in the unreleased code.

Any chance you suggest they release that version now? I am about ready to give up on the program just because of that problem. It is WAY past annoying!

You are severly over estimating my influence on them. Besides, I think you just suggested it. I do know that they read here periodically.

LOL I was just hoping you had great influence. Well, really, I was just hoping you could mention it to them. I didn't know they read here occasionally. That is a great thing.

OK so...Audible are you reading this? Please consider releasing a beta version that has fixed the problem of the book restarting, when it was manually paused, after every phone call. This is causing me great problems. I am almost reaching the point of not using the program at all.

Not even close... It is a very odd "relationship". If you can call it that. I have direct contacts that I gleaned from early alpha/beta testing, but they are very secretive with their information. Sometimes I send emails and get no response. Sometimes, I have friendly banter back and forth on an issue or question through several emails. At times, I am told what I can share and what I can't. I am not under NDA even though I have asked to be. However, I try to respect their wishes and not post things I shouldn't so that we can still get the few trickles of information that we do get. Half of the time, I feel like an annoying parasite. Although, I do believe that I/we have provided them with enough useful feedback so that mayhaps it is a symbiotic relationship instead. Regardless, I am in it for the long haul for selfish reasons. I love the Audible and BlackBerry brands...

I agree the restart after phone call bug is major issue, and if I had a reasonable alternative for playing audio books would stop using this application because of it. On a related note, I had use an earlier version which was much less bloated and had far fewer features, but was much more usable. On my Curve 8300 the app was faster to start up and faster to shut down. While the newest version looks good and is built around getting new books, I think mobile applications must first and foremost be fast and easy. In my case I use Audible primarily in the car, so you can see why getting quickly to your loaded books is the most important use case.

Default Audio drops when listening to Audible books

I have been an Audible listener for a few years now. However I recently got a Blackerry World and am using it to listen to my books. Everything works relatively well. My biggest complaint is that my listening experience usually ends each time because my audio is dropped. The only way I have found to recover from that is to shut down the BB, remove the battery, replace it and start up again.
Is there an option that I should adjust in my bb to accommodate or is this a recognized problem? My books are located on a 8GB memory card. Would reformatting that card help?
Thx in advance.

Time index keeps ticking, but no audio? If so, for me, I am able to pause and then rewind a bit and then it picks up when I hit play. This seems to only happen when I am listening through bluetooth. I do not think your card has anything to do with it though.

Newbie inquiry: is there a way to save the d/l'd ebooks to my card rather than device memory?

If you have a working card in, it should default there. Under the /music/audible directory. If you have those directories elsewhere, try moving them. I suppose it is possible for it to start there if you didn't have the card in on first launch.

I had this happen this morning. I don't use bluetooth, it was just coming out of my BB's speaker. I didn't try the rewinding bit, because I didn't see your post until now, way after the incident. What I tried, was exiting the program and then starting it up again. That worked for me, but the rewinding idea sure sounds better. I will try that if it happens again.

Now you can swap between a book, a call and back without missing a stitch

...or whatever they call it in quilting

Audible
Interesting. When you start Audible and it goes straight to the player, it doesn't do the upgrade check. You have to go to the Home screen before it'll do that check...not that I'm complaining that a new version is out.

Any ideas what else got fixed or improved? Yes, I'm still downloading it.
