Default Google Apps Connector for BlackBerry Enterprise Server

I couldn't see this anywhere else when i searched the forums and I doubt many BES admins need Google Apps but this I think this might be good for small business as I already have many customers on Google Apps

We are already strategizing on how we are going to do this. Had Google reps in house today discussing this and some other things. I can't wait to get a look at it in action to see how good it is.

I can only really see one problem with it. According to the Google Blurb it has one way calendar sync from GApps to BB. This would be a shame as the BB sync app has two way sync.

If they fix that I really see no reason to move from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 though

Does it require a different type of BES? Will it work on 4.1.6?

From what I had originally heard, I thought it would only run on 5.0. According to their data sheet, 4.1.6 MR4 is the minimum BES required. Other requirements are:

Google Apps Connector for BES requires Windows 2003 Server SP2 (approximately 1GB of disk space per GAC for BES user) and BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 Service Pack 6 Maintenance Release 4

Here is part of a conversation I just had with a Google Apps rep:

Quote:
Me: can I ask why the calendar will only have one-way sync? We are currently in the decision-making process, weighing Google Apps and Microsoft Exchange. Although we are very impressed with Google Apps, BES with Microsoft Exchange offers 2-way calendar sync and this is something that is a requirement for us.

Google: Our product developers are aware of this and are working to roll out two-way sync this year for the BES connector.

Is anyone aware of any providers of shared hosted BES for Google Apps now that Google support multiple domains on one BES?
