I'm waiting on this too. Until the release of an East Asia firmware for the 8900, in which it will probably be with HK CSL, I doubt we will see support for it until then. I'm getting annoyed with the little squares in place of my contacts too.

The latest OS for 8900 has been released, do you think the following OS supports the chinese language?

EastAsia firmware is released now, there should be CJK support for the Javelin.

Could I continue to use my .133 and just take the East Asian language support out from that build? If so, how can I do that? Thanks!

yes you can. i am using Korean with .152.

just take out cjk.alx and Chinese cod files to corresponding location on the new build and install.

I have helped someone from this forum to install Chinese on his 8900 and he was very happy with it; being able to read and type in Chinese.

I have added this through my desktop manager. I have posted this in another thread, just wondering if in the UK there is no desktop manager.

Here is a link to the thread with instructions on how I installed Chinese fonts and the ability to type chinese characters with my 8900. It looks like everyone has had this taken care of via pm, but I found it quite easy thought Desktop Manager.
