Well I never had maps on my 8800 and the version it installed was 1.1.32 but the weird thing was it wasn't on my BB. I had to go to the Blackberry website and download it again, even though my phone said it was already there. Well I DL'ed it again and now it's there. Oh well...Nothing really different on this except like it was pointed out no more IM folder. I guess the more I mess around with it..the more I'll see what's different.

It looks like lbs.alx will hide the icon so unless you modify the lbs.alx you won't see the icon. I did it myself and didn't use jibi's so I don't know if he removed the vendor code from that .alx as I did. but my maps icon showed up fine after the load.

I am currently using the 4.2.1.72 OS with my BlackBerry 8800. The only issue I have had with my BlackBerry is that when it is charging the light never goes to a solid green when it's fully charged it keeps flashing regardless of me charging it in the wall or via USB. Does this new OS address this issue at all?

I just updated mine to this OS and I'm having the same problem. I can't get the service books or the data services (capital EDGE). It was perfectly fine before I upgraded tonight. If anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know ASAP.

I am no longer a newbie when upgrading OS . . . ok panics with thie .90 upgrade. . . first BB was down so BB was dead in water. . . next service books missing all over the place!!

Then my browser icon and text messaging and pretty much all other functions of the 8800 was gone except for making phone calls - and yes I followed the instructions to the T!

But all is ok now and my BB is in full effect after the third attempt at sending SERVICE BOOKS!!

I don't know how you BB enthusiasts do it! haha

Ok that will be all of my venting

I just loaded the .90 OS onto my BlackBerry 8800. So far my BlackBerry seems faster and when I use the T Mobile Zen theme (Blue) the BlackBerry Messenger Icon shows up and is no longer in a folder. (Which I prefer)

I also noticed that once the BlackBerry is fully charged the status light becomes a solid green!! With the previous OS I was running the light it would constantly flash even though the handheld was fully charged.

Question at&t theme questions on 4.2

Has anyone noticed that the new version of the Cingular/at&t theme included with this release only has two rows of icons in the application screen?

I just recently tried the new 4.2 release for the 8700 which also had the newly branded Cingular/at&t theme, but in that build it has 3 rows as normal?

Any ideas? Is my 8800 just fubar'd?

No...not an issue exclusive to yours. It's a "feature" of the .90 OS.

Hmm this is interesting, thanks for posting!

On another note.. just as someone trying to load this thread on dial up, can we just ignore comments like the one below, concidering that this thread is about 50% of that little argument. I may be new here, but don't take this the wrong way, can we keep that to PM's?

I haven't had any issues that I noticed right off the bat or after having it installed for one day---all is pretty much the same with the exception of the cingular theme now coming up AT&T

Can't compare to others because I don't know but it takes usually 10 seconds on an average to acquire sats or 15 seconds max.

Mine took about 5 seconds to lock to 6 GPS sats. Values before that were all 0. Compared to before I would say there was a gain of a few seconds for me.
