Default Red Indicator LED

Please Login to Remove!

So, I just updated from 4.2 to 4.5. The red LED indicator stays on after I read a new message. Works fine until I read a new SMS and the LED indicator stays on. I had ColorPearl installed but removed it and did a cold reset yet it still happens. Has anybody had this issue?

Thanks.

Welcome to Blackberry Forums.

The problem that you are having is a common one and the answer can easily found by searching the forums. For the sake of expediency, let me ask, do you have colorpearl installed? If so this is your problem. You need to uninstall it since it is not compatible with OS 4.5. There is another free alternative out there if you search the site for it.
I am not a moderator for this site so I won't quote rules, since i'm sure i don't know them all, but I will say that searching the site first will result in quicker answers. But the folks on this site are very friendly and ready to help if they can. Good luck on your search.

I have searched and no I don't have ColorPearl installed as I said before. I'd rather not have the indicator LED disabled as I currently do now.

Do you have a media card installed? Are there files on it that you kept when you upgraded to 4.5? Remove the files, format the card, and put the files back on...

And as Shoftiel37 mentioned, make sure that you don't have ClolorPearl installed - or any other program that changes the color of your trackball. Those are the two biggest culprits of the ever-lit LED.
