Hey guys,

This issue is so annoying to me that I've scoured search engines and have finally made an account on a BlackBerry forum to get my problem resolved.

So I have Facebook for BlackBerry. The problem is that, with every little alert that happens on Facebook, I get sent a notification on my BlackBerry! This is irritating as I'd rather my BlackBerry only vibrate to something a little more pressing.

I've went to the Options menu in the Facebook application and I've unchecked the "Blackberry Message application" option. In fact, I've unchecked practically everything in there. I still get sent alerts to my phone. Like I said earlier, it is annoying to have my phone vibrate in the middle of something only to find out it is just Facebook.


Alternatively, is there a way to clear notifications without actually checking them? For example, if I have 4 Facebook notifications is there a way to just clear them without going into the Facebook app and manually clearing them individually? Or if I have a voicemail, is there a way to clear that notification without actually going in and checking the voicemail?

No, to clear you must go into the FB app.
What you need to do is go to facebook on a pc, and change your notification settings.
Uncheck everything you do NOT want to be notified about it, and it wont send you an email about it.
Then the FB cant intercept the emails, but there arent any!

this is what i do also. my phone only rings on a call ot text. i get the emails anf FB's but phone stays silent

That's actually the setting I have it at, but it vibrates anyway...

I do have my phone set to the "Vibrate Only" mode, if that matters. But I did go through the process you just described even in "Vibrate Only" mode and...well, it still vibrates.

As for changing notifications through my PC, I've unchecked every notification option under SMS(Settings -> My Account -> Notifications) and most under e-mail, but my BlackBerry still gets sent the annoying alerts all the time regardless.
