Yeah and TMO got the flip phone, so what is your point?

Exactly. T-Mobile turned down the Bold. Besides honestly, as long as your respective carrier gets the device, who care who gets it first?

Actually ATT getting the Javelin first would make sense. ATT got the 8800 first, then got the Curve first and T-Mobile got the Pearl 8100 first. So ATT getting the Bold and the 8900 first and T-Mo getting the 8220 first would hold form.

I can't wait to get the 8900 for att. It looks amazing. I had wanted the bold, but the size is the determining factor for me.
I am not sold on the fact that 3G is better in its current state. In a couple years, when networks improve, then 3g should be a big step up

That's a pretty good point! I heard AT&T wanted all of their smartphones to be 3G by some time next year. I'll take anything to pacify me that Tmobile will get the Javelin this year.

Guess they had a change of heart considering all the issues they have had with 3G.

TMO store managers were told in Vegas that it would be after the new year before they'd get it.

I agree. Lack of 3G really hasn't been an issue for me with my 8310, so I doubt it will be with the 8900. The Bold is simply too big for me.

Bold is not that much bigger, the main thing for me is price.
almost 450 bucks out the door with $100 MIR, wow. Am i going to like it more than my 8310? probably, but worth an extra 300 dollars? probably not.

i haven't seen it in person yet. I will check out the bold thoroughly before waiting it out for the 8900. i use an 8100 for my every day bb, so anything i get will be a step up in size. is the bold smaller than the 8700? Because to me, my 8700 is a brick, but a great device.
I just think the smaller size and better camera are worth waiting for. And like i said, i think 3g seems like a bunch of hype. of course i haven't tried 3g yet

Not only the form factor and the camera, but the 8900 has 256MB for apps compared to 128 for the Bold. Also the 8900's screen looks better than the Bolds. Honestly the only thing the Bold has over the 8900 is 3G and net speed. If 3G isn't a priority for you, go with the Curve 8900.

If At&t delivers, it will be amazing. I got to hold the Bold at Wes in February and here we are in the 4th quarter. I never dreamed it would be this long. After setting up our first Bold TA unit on Monday the 27th, I am in agreement some what regarding the size of the phone. It runs fast fast fast so if you overlook the size, the other assets offset this some what.
And now, there is almost no news surrounding the 8900 on the At&t site? (or did I miss it Jason?) And we are all wondering about the pricing point? If your saying with the 256mb there will be a performance increase, it will be a great phone. The Bold I setup is fast so I can't imagine how fast the 8900 will be with double the memory. The Bold has all the fanfare right now while the 8900 is being developed in the back ground to replace the Curve.
My guess is the 8900 will be a great platform for Corp USA. For the international travelers, the Bold will be the platform of choice.
Well, next week should be interesting. I hope At&t can deliver!
H.

I am on ATT with an 8300 and want to upgrade. The Bold is coming out this week (if not already) on ATT but I feel that the Javelin is a better fit for me as I LOVE the curve. 3G does not wow me I just want a better curve- the Javelin.
I may be wrong and will probably have to buy the Bold as the Javelin is too far off on ATT.
I want it all and I want it now....
