Angry How to stream video over http??

Please Login to Remove!

Quick background:
I am BES Admin with all Verizon phones. BES 4.1.4 (for now). I have another server setup that shares 3gp files to the internet. Via IIS over http:

Question: How can I "stream" files to my blackberry? Seams easy enough, right? The Blackberry plays 3gp files no problem (8703e, 8830, 8330 = all 4.2+). I goto the server over the internet browser on the BB and click a 3gp file that is around 500kb. I have read that max size is 1024...Seems stupid, but whatever, I made a 500kb 3gp file to test.....

I get "Request Entity to large". I can view these files via browser no problem.... Anyone know about this sort of thing? From reading it looks like people can STREAM (not just dl then play) 3gp files on their Blackberry. Is there something I need to change with IIS or do I need to setup a Microsoft Media Server to do something xtra for me?

I had to change my IIS MIME type settings for .3pg

.3gp
video/3gpp

the video will only play for about 10sec though so I still have something silly going on....unless the bit rate is too high....

I'm really surprised that no one else is interested in streaming 3gp videos from their home server over the internet to their blackberry. If youtube can do it. (with crappy quality) I should be able to do it too. As I said before. Audio files work great as long as their under like 6 megs (dumb) and full screen 3gp files will actually START to play, but only for about 4-10 seconds. I even tried VERY small 3gp videos under 3 megs and still no luck.

I would love to use a free web cam stream. One that doesnt require me to send my video to a 3rd part company. I have used WM9 encoder and streaming but not supported by the 8830. I would like to not install more crap such as iis on this pc since it is also a gaming pc for my wife.

I am going to try and buy a better cam that vlc should support but I am still not sure if I can do what I want without having to set up IIS etc for hosting.

I've only played with this for a moment, but you have to use the rtsp protocol instead of http.

So instead of http://mysite.com/video.3gp navigate to rtsp://mysite.com/video.3gp

Take a look at your BES MDS flow control settings.
