Default Cannot remove password setting...help!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I have just got the new BB Bold. I dont know how but I have managed to change the setting so the phone locks when it is inactive for 1 hour and needs the password to be entered to unlock the phone.

The help section sent me to 'options' which I did and I tried to 'untick' password but it is not allowing me to untick this. Having to put the password in each time i want to make a phonecall etc is driving me nuts!!!

I would appreciate any input at all, I have now run out of ideas and keep pressing my phone once an hour so it doesnt lock!!!

thank you

Moved to a more appropriate section.

Actually setting a password is a good security measure, since if you lose it, your data is still safe.

If this is a corporate phone it may not be possible to remove the password requirement.
Also as Dubdub stated it is a wise option to have. Many people who have lost their Blackberry's have wished they had one set.
you will get accustomed to the password. It also seems that a person who did not read the manual might want to at a minimum take advice from those who offer experience.
Just in case your still not willing to here are the instructions.

To set a BlackBerry smartphone password
On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click the Options icon.
Click Security Options.
Click General Settings.

Note: If you are running BlackBerry® Device Software version 4.0.2 or earlier, click Options and then Security.
Note: If you are running BlackBerry Device Software version 4.6 or later, click Options and then Password.

Change the Password field to Enabled.
Display the menu, and click Save.
Type the new password, and click Enter.
Type the new password again, and click Enter.
