Default Cisco Unity voicemail message emails not reconciling properly

Please Login to Remove!

We recently got a new Cisco IP phone system. Unity messages are coming in to the BlackBerry devices fine, however, if the user deletes or reads a unity voicemail from their inbox on Outlook, it does not wirelessly reconcile it on the BlackBerry, so it still shows as unread, even when a "Reconcile Now" is used.

Any ideas? Anything I can do on BES to fix this?

Admittedly I don't know much about this ... but what happens when a user views / deletes one from the HH? Does the read mark reconcile? Does the delete?

We also use Cisco Unity voicemail messaging.

The BES just sees these messages like any other email message (with an attachment).

Are you able to reconcile other email messages with attachments?

The only messages that seem to be having the issue are unity messages. If I delete one from the BlackBerry it does not delete from my Inbox.

I'm assuming, like our system, that when you receive the voicemail message in Outlook it comes in with a .wav attachment type. A few questions:

- What version BES?
- Are you able to listen to the attachemnt on your Blackberry devices?
- How does it handle other messages with attachments?
- Have you tested any .wav attachments that are NOT from the Unity system? Do they reconcile?

- BES 4.0.6.7
- Only one user has the ability to listen to them, we don't mind this. They are all Verizon 7130s, which can't listen to WAV attachments
- It doesn't have issues syncing other messages with attachments as far as I've seen.
- Not exactly, I could.

I am starting to think it may be a permissions thing between Unity and Exchange and BES.. but I really don't know. I've got a ticket in with the VAR who set our Cisco system up as well.

This is very odd....

Is there any sort of rule in Outlook that perma deletes messages with .wav files (it's a stretch, but so is this issue )

I would be surprised if it was anything to do with permissions if you are able to receive the email and see the attachment on the device....but stranger things have happened btwn Cisco/Unity/AD.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Try searching the Cisco forums, too....there may be something out there.

Default Also encountering the same behavior

Our Cisco Unity 5.0 environment and BES 4.1 are not syncing voicmail messages either -- when the message is read or deleted via phone or Outlook, the handheld is not updated.
