Have you tried resending the service books? Might want to delete them from the device first, then resend.

hmm, well, usually i reset it like, 10 times a day, and its getting slower and slower ever day.... like on bb messenger, most of my messages never send for days. i'll reset and they'll send one message, then it freezes again. i've checked that im in a good coverage area and i am. i've also checked to see it any app's have been left open and are running. there never is! i'm really confused and annoyed, because every day my pearl gets slower....and slower....and s.l.o.w.e.r.....!!!

pardon my ignorance but how do you perform a "soft reset"?

You do have service books. You can re-send them from your my.t-mobile.com account or call customer service (611) and ask them to resend them. Often message related issues center on service books.

if you're resetting 10x/day you have a defective device or a terribly bad OS installation. wipe and re-install OS. if that fails, pull the warranty card.

a soft reset is just powering down the device with the power button and turning it back on. it's called soft because the device isn't really powered down, it's more like a sleep or hibernate.

a hard reset is pulling the battery out.
