What upsets me is that this doesn't look like a bug they can fix with firmware updates. This looks like them going cheap on a part that they shouldn't go cheap on, and I can't imagine it's be horribly expensive in the first place. I have been patiently waiting since the 8830 for an updated world phone, and now I find they ruined such an important and basic part of it, that's why I'm so disappointed.

1. Yes I do own this Blackberry (Although there is a good chance i am going to return it.)

2. My tour is on Verizon. GPS is NOT working (I have tested 3 devices and it has not worked on any of them) It can approximate my location but will never get a GPS location. The built in "Blackberry Maps" will not establish a GPS location.

3. I have an issue when Verizon chooses to CRIPPLES basic features that were originally built into the device. If indeed there is no way to "FIX" the no GPS issue I will be returning my device and go back to my Bold.

agt I have had my Tour since 8 AM Sunday morning and the phone part is far superior to my 8830 which I have had since it's launch date. I hear calls clearly and no one has complained that they cannot hear me. Try swapping your phone for a new one or it just may be the area you are in in which case it is a Verizon problem.

Ok... I apologize.. I got GPS working... (Required a Wipe and reload of the device) No GPS was a deal breaker. I can deal with all of the other issues.

You need to turn it on, not "fix" it.

It ships turned off. That's got nothing to do with wiping / rebooting.

It's not a ploy to cripple anything.

The only thing I wish it had from the get go was VZW tones. This is the one you can get ring tones. My wife loves this. I know they will come out with it down the road but it would be nice to have it now. Also my GPS works great. The phone is not even a week old yet so I understand I need to wait. Things will get better. Apps will have updates and RIM will upgrade the OS.

Tour has no Wifi
Tour cannot do voice and data at the same time.
When 5.0 comes out, the Bold will be the best device (I think it still is).

I only have a problem with weak vibrate and subpar battery. Maybe the battery will improve as I cycle it but the vibrate sucks. I am going back to the store to try the model.
Other than that, sounds great, snappy and overall the best BB so far.

Default You Should Know Better

Most of us know that being the 'first' to own hot new hardware comes with a price....right folks? We all know that there are going to be bugs that need to be worked out with software updates and hardware tweaks. So with that said, please continue to entertain the wise, patient BB owners such as myself with all of your breathless rants about how much you hate the thing you love the most............your Blackberry. I'll be picking mine up in December

Default BES Activation Bug?

I only have one Tour so it could be my device, but while going through a BES activation through the Setup Wizard/Email Setup the screen where you type in your email address and activation password skips to bluetooth setup after a quick second. I was able to activate it through Options, but need to know if others experience this.

Sooooo much better than the storm, I was about to chuck the thing even though I got used to it, and it was a BlackBerry haha I'm glad I got the keyboard back!

But only thing I can complain about is where they placed the microUSB port on the damn thing, now i can't be a true crackberry addict and try to talk, txt and surf at the same time while it's plugged in lol!

Also it's a great fingerprint magnet, but that's what you get with pretty things puhaha

otherwise, great device, everything seems good, GPS is working fine on mine! I'll live without wifi until , and this is a big if and when, the BB Atlas comes out , or ever rears its head from waterloo!

Voicemail problem (wasn't working) but wiping the phone a couple of times fixed that

Takes forever to turn on, compared to my old 8830

Glossy surface = tons of smudges

Headphones that are included are a joke, compared to the ones that come with the Bold

Uses microUSB ports so I have to dump all of my existing miniUSB chargers and now get microUSB ones

Other than that, the phone is great
