Exclamation Hour Glass

Please Login to Remove!

About every 3 Seconds, I hour glass is showing on the screen. Any suggestions? I shut the phone off and restarted it. I also pulled the battery, but the result is the same. Any thoughts?

I had the same thing. It came from certain websites, specifically WordPress blogs. It would say "Running Script" and then wouldn't load any further. The hourglass would then come up every three seconds until I pulled the battery.

Strange that the battery pull won't work for you. You haven't installed any new applications, have you? Zumobi had a similar effect on my BB.

No, I haven't installed any applications on the phone. Today was the first time that this has happened to me. I don't know what to do. My battery is being drained very quickly as well.

sounds like maybe you are in a poor signal area? If you go to Options>Status, what is your signal strength?

This morning I woke up to the same problem. Is this a memory leak symptom? I tried a battery pull like a thousand times to no avail.

Sounds like something is running in the background. When you press ALT + Escape is anything besides the base 5 apps listed?

Question

Strange, my BB messenger messages are disappearing after restarts, but only ones I have received today. Also, I can't get my voicemail counter thing to clear. Is this a memory leak or something else?

Furthermore, my BB is getting quite warm now I have 17572788 bytes free in file memory and I was finally able to clear my voicemail notifier. However, the hourglass persists. It ia draining the battery quickly as well.

Exclamation

My handset froze up while trying to answer a phone call, so I pulled the battery. When it finished booting, all the phone call logs that I had deleted about an houe ago are right back on the device. I also have the voicemail icon back even though I have no voicemails. I want to punt this thing! Oh I can't wait for the bold!

Exclamation

Ok, so, a friend of mine just called and said she was having the hourglass issue on her Curve, which is also on Sprint. I called Sprint to find out if there is any known network trouble and they said no. The CSR is filling out a trouble ticket and will be calling me back at 9:15 CST. I would suggest calling sprint and reporting the issue, as it seems like a network issue, not a device issue.

Exclamation Temporary Fix

As a temporary solution, remove the Facebook application. Go to Options>advanced>applications>facebook>remove(clic k BB key to bring up menu) then say yes to the restart and it should be good. I will update when I find out if/when you can expect to re-install the app.

That facebook issue did the trick. As soon as I removed it, I got about 20 emails on my phone. However, what's the deal with facebook?

I would be a liar if I told you why it did that. All I can guess at is maybe there was an issue with the BB/facebook push server??? Anyway, you can re-install it if you want to. I have and the issue has yet to return. We weren't the only people having the issue today which is what makes me believe it may have been a server issue. I am just glad its fixed.

I think I had the same issue (with hourglasses and battery depletion), and I deleted the google app (I still have the facebook app) and that seemed to fix the problem...

I also had a problem with not receiving any emails but that was after I deleted the Google app, and it just took a battery pull to get all my emails to arrive.
