Wirelessly posted (BB8700 with Opera Mini: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.0.6306/1690; de; U; ssr))

You can add a MicroSD Card up to 4GB, depends on your FW.
Prices you should find easily in the web.
I bought 1GB for 8 EUR.

Yes, you can add extra memory through a mini SD card. The max is 2 GB.
The price varies, but you will often find some good deals posted here:

many others are out there.

funny you should ask, check out the thread that starts, "Prove what you say-4GB ...."
I have read that 2GB is the probably enough depending on what you want but 4GB has been under debate for sometime now.

good luck...I may just add the 2 GB and leave it alone.
I know AT&T has 2 GB for $50 or so.

Because it is not TRULY confirmed that 4gb will work in just "any" Pearl at this point, long long long discussion. Unless you want to be a guinea pig and possibly waste the $$s, stick with 2gb.,

Good call.

So any of these will do?
Amazon.com: 2 gb mini sd card

Any reason not to go with the $15 ones?

Should I go with the $15, $22 or $29 one? I don't get the differences...

I am going to guess the difference in price has to do with brands (ie Nike vs. Reebok)
I don't know much else other than this but I could be wrong.
I hope this helps some,

As long as you go with a major manufacturer, like SanDisk or Kingston as JSanders said, you should be fine.

I'd recommend against going with the El Cheapos. They're cheap because the assembler uses the lowest grade memory, possibly with dead bits already, and cuts corners on assembly.

Default Heya

Hey, I joined the forum to get information on 4gb cards and why mine wasn't working with my BB Pearl.
After reading up on it, I discovered (from this thread) that it would work with the newest OS (.101). I downloaded it and it worked.
3.7gb of free space.

Just confirming.
Thanks for all the info.!

I just got a Pearl last night and put a 2GB card in it. I sync with Outlook and have lots of 'notes'. What is the best way to use the card? I would like for all my 'notes', calendar items, messages, etc to go to the SD card. I really don't expect to do much in the way of ringtones, pictures, and videos.

Just wanted to clear things up. It should be a micro sd card and not a mini sd card. I would go with the San Disk brand.
