Default Unable to Sync Curve - tried EVERYTHING

Please Login to Remove!

I have a user that purchased a personal BB curve with BB OS 4.5. She was able to sync with Outlook 2007 on her home PC fine. She would also like to sync with her work PC which is Outlook XP. Don't know if the Office version matters, but it might . . .

We have tried both Desktop Manager v 4.5 and v4.6 with same result: it reads and syncs all Address books fine. It reads the calendar entries from Outlook and the sync "stops unexpectedly." Here's what we have tried:

1. Archiving all of her older items (brought her calendar from over 2000 items to 600.
2. Deleted all calendar entries that have attachments.
3. Turned of Antivirus and then tried.
4. Deleting the last item read by DM, but then it just errors out on a different item.

Currently, she is using her palm pilot to transfer items from her work PC to her home PC and then syncing the BB with her home PC to update it. Do you think remnants from Palm could be causing a problem?

I have advised her to wipe the BB to restore it factory settings and then to sync only with her work PC to eliminate the home PC as a problem.

ANY HELP on this would be greatly appreciated!

Use DM 4.2 SP2. There are issues with Outlook 2000 and DM 4.3 and above.

I had the same problem for a while. I ended up going into the advanced options of the DM and clearing the devises calendar. It's been fine ever since.

She is using DM 4.6 and BB OS 4.5 with Docs to go. We have tried clearing the Device's calendar completely. Yesterday, she wiped the BB and was going to try a clean sync. I have not heard back, but would guess that it didn't work.

Will DM 4.2 work with the new OS on BB? Or does that even matter?

Thanks for the replies!

Hi,

Apart from the keyboard problem (which I am following in another thread), I have the same problem with Sync.

I have DM4.7 and OS 4.5. When I try to sync. the DM shows the progress as "Processing Record 0 of 0 Records" and DM hangs. I have to use the taskmanager to kill the process.

Same is the problem with Backup or Restore. Any ideas to correct this?

Regards,

If you have Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 and use Windows XP or Vista, then DM 4.3 and above should work.

If you are running earlier versions of Outlook on Windows 2000, XP or Vista, then use DM 4.2 SP2 or SP3.
