Default Block Pop-ups?

Please Login to Remove!

Just got the Curve 9330 and I love it. However, I've noticed I'm getting pop-ups that I never asked for about once or twice a day. These are not within an internet browser! I'm talking about things popping up out of nowhere while idle in my home screen. Most (but not all) are "WeatherBug" pop-ups. I don't have and never have had the WeatherBug app on this phone! Can anyone shed some light on how to put an end to this annoyance? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

A drastic approach would be to wipe and reload the OS.

Never seen a pop-up on any BB that I have owned. What sort of pop-ups? Are you sure that they aren't some type of notification?

Could the WeatherBug application be installed, but hidden? On home screen > BB Menu key > Show All.

Any icon for WeatherBug?

And what are these pop-ups telling you or announcing?

I appreciate y'all's input. I think I stumbled on the solution. It seems there was a little icon that came with the phone labeled "Daily Perks". Apparently, when I first got the phone and poked around getting it set up the way I like it, I must have clicked the "I Agree" option, not realizing what I was agreeing to. I uninstalled the app. However it comes back on its own after your first hard reset. At that point, all I had to do is refrain from that "I Agree" button. Five days gone now and that pop-up has yet to reappear. I guess this is a lesson learned for anyone else who might find themselves in the same predicament.

Probably an app pushed by your carrier. If it comes back, just hide it.
